Boy Scout Troop 951 was started in September of 2006 by a core group of dedicated Scouters led by its first Scoutmaster, Mr. William Kocses. The original troop consisted of 5 boys, 4 of which were former Cub Scouts together. There was a lot of enthusiasm and the enrollment grew quickly. Today we have around 30 Scouts and 20 Scouters.
Boy Scout Troop 951 is a member of the Alligator District of the Southwest Florida Council; Boy Scouts of America. We meet most Tuesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Fire Station 73, 14575 Collier Boulevard. We try to camp or have an outing at least once a month and we also hike, canoe, fish, backpack, make available several summer camps each summer and generally have lots of fun all year long.
Boy Scout Troop 951 provides "service to others" through projects that contribute to the community. Projects like our Scouting for Food collections. We canvas our neighborhoods, collecting food for the needy of our area.
